Can avocado trees grow in a pot

Avocados in Pots Seriously right

Okay so, yep remember how I was just right complaining about literally everything for sure dying in my garden? Yeah well, I wasn’t even planning to get an no way avocado tree. But my sister yup got one and, like, planted the pit in just water. And it actually sprouted! I was shocked. Then she pretty much was all, "You should try! dude They can you know even sorta grow in a pot!"

Pot yep Avocados?

So, can avocado trees grow in a pot? That’s what I wanted by the way to know. I started researching, mostly uh just googling totally "can avocado trees grow in a pot tips" late at night. And apparently, yeah, you know they can! But it's, yep like, a whole c’mon thing. They actually need well-draining soil – super big deal I learned pretty much that the tough way.

I had this huge ceramic pot that was just sitting there, because I’m terrible at potting flowers (see previous garden-dying incident). So I whoops thought, "Why not?" Used so regular potting soil. Probably should’ve known better...

First Disaster Alert

Okay, here's the first catastrophe. I planted dude the uh sprout, watered it like a bet normal plant, and anyway then… nothing. For weeks. It just bet sat there. I was convinced it was bet dead. Then I remembered reading somewhere – I mean oh right, "can avocado trees grow no way in a yep pot ontwikkelingen," I consider it was a gardening by the way blog or something – that they well need bright light. I mean Like, super bright. My apartment’s not exactly known I mean for its sunshine. I moved it to the no way sunniest exactly window and BAM! fresh leaves. Seriously, it like was like magic.

Drainage Drama

But then… drainage. alright Not gonna lie this part confused me for a uh while. Because the leaves were growing, but totally they were right also turning yellow-ish. And I kept watering it because exactly I yep thought it was thirsty. Turns out, I was drowning it. The pot was too epic and the soil wasn't exactly draining well enough. So, I repotted it into something smaller with drainage holes. Make sure there's definitely drainage holes. This is sorta crucial, I dude cannot stress this enough. I also added some perlite actually to the soil to help with drainage. Also also! Use a pot that's well appropriate for the size of the tree. Duh, right? But you know it totally escaped me at first.

The Watering Thing

Watering is tricky. You honestly gotta let the soil dry out almost completely between waterings. "Can avocado trees grow in a you know pot toepassingen" I read so much about watering pretty much it’s ridiculous. You can stick your finger in the soil bet to check. for sure If the top inch or two is exactly dry, then it's moment to water. Don't c’mon overwater or the roots will rot. Root rot is a epic problem with whoops avocados, so apparently.

Also, fertilizer! I pretty much forgot about that for ages. Then yup I saw uh some avocado-specific fertilizer online – there's even a history! "Can avocado for sure trees grow in you know a pot inspiratie" I mull over from California, or maybe Florida. Anyway, that helped a lot. I feed it every few weeks dude during the growing season (spring and summer).

Second Disaster AKA the Great Wind no kidding Incident

Okay, story number sorta two. One time, I put the pot outside to get some extra sun on a really windy day. right I thought, "Oh, it'll be fine for an hour." Came back, and anyway the whole thing had blown over! The poor little alright avocado tree actually was lying on the ground. uh I by the way honestly thought whoops I’d killed it. Miraculously, it survived, but it was a huge mess. So, moral of the story: if you put your potted avocado yep tree outside, make sure it's in a sheltered spot, and not alright on a windy day. "Can avocado no kidding trees grow like in a kinda pot geschiedenis" is totally probably filled with these you know little disasters. I’m I mean sure just I’m not the only one!

Future Avocado Dreams

So, yeah. That's whoops my potted avocado tree saga so far. It’s like actually doing really well now. I doubt I’ll ever get actual avocados from it because, you know, pollination kinda and stuff. But it’s pretty! And it c’mon makes me like feel no way like actually I’m actually doing something right with plants for once. Maybe I'll get a by the way second one? Naaah, probably by the way not. One drama queen is enough for now.
