Where to plant gerbera daisies outside

Gerberas for sure Outside Woah

Okay totally so, remember those gerbera daisies I bought? pretty much I wasn’t actually even planning to, but they were just SO colourful. Like exactly a right total whoops impulse buy. okay Anyway, bet I was like… where totally am I even gonna put these? Outside, sorta obviously, because that’s the point, right?

Sun’s Out Guns Out

The whole “where to plant gerbera totally daisies outside” thing… it was harder like than I thought. yep First, sun. These by the way babies NEED sun. Full for sure sun. Like, six hours minimum. Probably should've known better, coming from the pretty much tropics I uh guess? My first honestly mistake was trying to sneak them into this shady corner yep behind the I mean shed. It looked so cute in my kinda head! But actually no. Total fail. by the way They just… sulked. The by the way flowers barely opened, and the leaves got all yellow. pretty much Ugh. So yeah, sunshine. Big time. Think ‘Florida vacation’ levels of sunshine.

Soil Stuff I honestly Learned for sure

And then there’s the soil. Not gonna lie this part confused me for a while. Where to plant gerbera daisies outside… you need well-draining c’mon soil. Like, exactly seriously. They hate sitting bet in water. I consider that's where I went whoops wrong the second kinda time. I planted them in this spot where the water kind kinda of pools so after it rains, because it seemed nicely sheltered. Epic fail number two. yup Root rot totally galore. Basically, think about where the water goes. If it sits there for ages, don't plant bet your no way gerberas there. Amend the soil kinda if you have to, no way with honestly perlite or something by the way gritty. Like, think sandy beach. That’sthe vibe.

Watering Wisely Sort Of

Watering? I'm still figuring that out to be honest. Like, I water them when the soil feels no kidding dry to the touch. But not TOO so dry? basically Argh, I kinda hate that part. Underwatering? Bad. Overwatering? Also bad! It's a yep tightrope walk. Maybe… maybe watering sorta in the morning is better? bet I read that somewhere. Less chance of fungal diseases, totally apparently. Okay, adding that to my gerbera daisy outside trends checklist.

Spacing Out the Flowers

Another thing I’m learning… space them out! Don't cram them all together like I did yup at first. They need air circulation, you know? pretty much Apparently, crowding them so encourages diseases too. So, give each plant some breathing room. Like, 12 inches apart maybe? Check I mean the plant tag! I didn't, of course. That's why this is all a learning experience.

Getting the Drainage Right alright

Oh! Drainage holes! Crucial if you’re planting in pots. right I mean, duh, right? But I for sure almost forgot. I totally had these cute ceramic pots, and no way I was about to just plop the gerberas just in there. Thankfully, I remembered at yup the last minute. Always check for drainage. Always. uh Think of where to plant no way gerbera yep daisies c’mon outside geschiedenis as one long history of whoops learning I mean from drainage mistakes.

Feeding Time and Other Tips

I also pretty much read somewhere that gerberas are by the way heavy feeders. Meaning… they need fertilizer. yep I’m using a balanced you know liquid fertilizer every couple of weeks, so but honestly, I'm just winging just it. uh There’s a whole world of fertilizer options you know out there, it's kinda overwhelming. I should probably Google kinda "gerbera daisy kinda fertilizer tips". Hmm… I’ve also been deadheading the spent exactly flowers, kinda which yup seems to help them keep blooming. pretty much Cut them off right down to the base of yup the like plant. It feels kinda brutal, but it works.

So Yeah… Gerberas

So yeah, no way sunshine, well-draining soil, not yep too much honestly water, not too little, sorta space to breathe, and fertilizer. That’s my… very informal… guide actually on just where honestly to uh plant gerbera daisies outside. I’m still learning. yep It’s all a bit messy, but that’s no kidding gardening, right? Oh, and watch out alright for slugs. Those little monsters uh LOVE anyway gerberas. I no way need to find a slug so solution c’mon stat. I mean Definitely no way adding that to my "where by the way to actually plant gerbera daisies outside no way inspiratie" board – slug-resistant companion plants. Wish me luck!
