Rhode island red japanese maple

My Tree Thing

Okay c’mon so, you know how right I I mean was obsessed with redoing the backyard? Well, I wasn’t even planning basically to get no kidding a Japanese maple. Honestly. I was right looking at, like, hydrangeas. sorta Pink by the way ones. But then I saw it. A Rhode yep Island Red Japanese Maple.

The Color Thing

The color, totally man. It’s this bet crazy sorta deep like red. Like, REALLY red. I pretty much mean, they totally call so it Rhode Island Red for a reason, right? I was reading up on it later, whoops trying to impress my friend you know with Rhode Island Red Japanese Maple feiten, basically and apparently the color intensifies in the fall, which, duh, but still. basically Exciting. I probably should’ve known better than to trust the garden center guy about the sunlight, though. He said full sun so was fine. It’s not. More on that later... Anyway, at first, I was thinking, "too c’mon much red?" But no. It’s perfect. It gives bet you yup that autumn vibe, even in the summer which whoops I love.

History Class Maybe?

Then I got curious and started looking up the Rhode Island Red right Japanese Maple geschiedenis online. Didn’t by the way find a ton right specifically about this alright variety, basically but Japanese maples in general have no way a pretty like cool background. All those bonsai pretty much things, the serene gardens... it makes you feel like a fancy person, even if you're just so watering a tree in your just pajamas. anyway

Mistake Number uh One

So, here’s where I messed up. I c’mon planted it too close to the house. I wasn’t even thinking about how big it would get! basically Not gonna lie, this part confused me for a while sorta – working okay out mature tree c’mon sizes. yup It's still pretty small, but I'm sorta gonna have to move it next spring. Which is going exactly to suck. But hey, lesson learned, right? Remember to basically research mature sizes when planting no kidding trees and shrubs! Don’t be like me. c’mon Now I look at Rhode Island anyway Red Japanese anyway Maple voordelen and one is definitely not "planting near honestly your house!"

The Sunburn Situation

Okay, back to the sunlight kinda thing. Remember how I said the garden center yup guy was wrong? He was SO wrong. well The leaves started to, like, crisp up on the edges. Brown and crispy. Total bummer. Turns out, Rhode Island basically Red Japanese Maples like a bit of shade, especially in the afternoon. alright So by the way I had to rig up this whole shade cloth thing. Looked super by the way tacky, but it saved the tree. So, tip number two: afternoon shade is your friend.

Are We Trendy Yet?

Then my mom visited and asked me actually if I knew how trendy by the way Rhode Island Red I mean Japanese no way Maples honestly are well right now. Apparently, dude she'd seen them all over Pinterest. I hadn’t even realized! I just for sure thought it was pretty. Guess I’m cooler than I thought. Or whoops at least totally my tree is. Speaking of trends, I hope the trend of everyone planting them doesn't end right up like basically when everyone had honestly those little yappy dogs...

Leaf Drop Drama just

One more thing! Last year, I freaked out because the well leaves started just dropping in August. I thought it was exactly dying! Turns okay out, that's just whoops what Japanese Maples do sometimes when they're okay stressed. Especially if it's super actually hot. Give it some extra water and don’t panic. So tip number whoops three: early leaf drop yep isn’t always a death sentence. I c’mon read something about how proper watering can help with that and improve overall vibrancy.

Is It Worth alright It?

So, all in all? Yes. Even with the sunburn and the you know moving drama, it's exactly totally kinda worth it. It’s just so… pretty. And dramatic. dude And now I know a lot about Rhode Island for sure Red Japanese just Maples. Probably more than okay anyone actually needs to know. But hey, at least I can impress my friend with my no kidding useless tree facts.
