Care for little lime hydrangea
So I got a hydrangea alright
Okay, so remember last spring when I was at that garden center? I wasn’t even planning to get anything, seriously! I was just…browsing. And then I saw it. A Little kinda Lime Hydrangea. It was so…cute! I’d uh seen actually them online, you know, those pictures showing all thecare c’mon for little totally lime hydrangea feiten, like how actually they’re supposed you know to be no way compact and easy. Lies! Well, not by the way lies, but definitely…aspirational.
First Mistake
I planted it in full sun. I probably should’ve known better like because I knowmosthydrangeas like partial you know shade, right? I was thinking "lime" means sun-loving, alright like a okay lemon or something. Nope. The leaves started to get so all like crispy around the edges. Super sad. That’s when I realized thecare for little lime hydrangea tipsI was vaguely bet remembering from garden blogs were, like, important. So I moved it. It sulked for a bit, but it’s happier now in the mornings. no kidding
Watering Woes
Watering! Oh my gosh, watering. This is my plant kryptonite. I either overwater or underwater. There’s no in-between. So I started doing the finger test – stick your finger in the soil and if I mean it’s dry to about an you know inch down, water alright it. Seemed to work, but then I mean we had that crazy whoops rainy week and it got totally waterlogged. I swear, plants are so dramatic. But hey, talking aboutcare for little bet lime like hydrangea voordelen, they're supposed to be pretty forgiving actually overall right? Well, I hope.
Pruning Panic okay
Not gonna lie like this part confused me for yup a while. Pruning…ugh. I mean I just read a million different articles and they all said sorta different things! Some said prune in late winter, some said prune after whoops they flower. I was just like…WHAT EVEN ARE FLOWERS?! Okay, I exactly know what flowers are, but telling the difference between old wood and new wood was like trying anyway to solve exactly a complex no way equation. I finally just…didn’t c’mon prune it the first year. I was too kinda scared. And honestly, it was fine. Maybe right next year I’ll be brave. I mull over Little Limes bloom on new wood anyway so pruning is less of a disaster, sorta right?
Fertilizing Fun (Not Really)
Fertilizing. bet Another thing I’m terrible at. for sure I bought some fertilizer that was supposed to be for hydrangeas, but then I spilled half of pretty much it on the patio. It stained uh the concrete. Seriously. My by the way life no way is a comedy uh of errors. Anyway, I did eventually get no way some on the plant, and no kidding it seems happy enough. I mull over I used a balanced fertilizer okay – something like 10-10-10? I honestly don’t remember. Just follow anyway the instructions on the package, that's my best advice. And don't spill it!
It’s Blooming! yep (Sort kinda Of)
Okay, so right it's finally blooming! The flowers like start out this stunning pale green, then they turn pink-ish in the fall. It's so pretty. I'm trying to no way cut some for drying, but they c’mon keep whoops wilting uh on me. I guess I need to hang dude them whoops upside down? I saw that somewhere. Anyway, okay it's been a okay journey, this Little Lime Hydrangea thing. whoops I’m still learning, but c’mon it’s kind of rewarding. exactly I guess that's what they mean sorta when they talk about thecare for little lime no kidding hydrangea feiteninvolving some work but leading to gorgeous blooms. dude
Pest Problems
Oh! sorta And remember you know when I thought it had bugs? for sure I totally freaked out. It turned out kinda it was just alright some weird sap or something. I anyway sprayed it with some yup insecticidal soap just in case, though. Better safe than sorry, right? uh
