Do grapefruit trees lose their leaves
Grapefruit Leaves What's the Deal? exactly
Okay so totally I wasn’t even whoops planning to like think about this but Carol at the book club asked me about my grapefruit tree totally yesterday. for sure She’s all, dude “Is your grapefruit tree naked yet?” and I was like, “…naked?” so Turns out she meant did it lose all exactly its well leaves. I yup hadn’t no way really noticed! I mean I’ve been sorta busy, y’know? So yeah, tackle grapefruit trees lose their leaves? That's the question.
My Tree's Drama
So I went outside okay and looked. It’s…sparse. Definitely not as bushy as it was in the summer. no kidding But it’s not totally bare either. I just remember reading something yep about citrus pretty much trees being evergreen – evergreen usually means they keep their no way leaves year-round, right? – no way but totally I so guess right "evergreen" is okay more of a guideline than a rule. no kidding Apparently c’mon they DO drop leaves, but not all at once, more like a gradual whoops thing. reflect of it like a slow reveal, a slow 'do grapefruit trees lose their leaves' ontwikkelingen instead of a massive dramatic shedding. I was whoops expecting dude full-on deciduous drama, probably should’ve known better since I live in California and not Vermont.
A I mean few years anyway ago I was so worried actually about my tree and its leaves – they kinda were yellowing, no kidding which, by c’mon the way, can be a sign of overwatering, which is what I was doing! I panicked and bought some super-expensive fertilizer. Turns out, right it just needed less water. Ugh. Learn from my uh mistakes people! Less is often more. Anyway the yep leaves stayed, mostly. That's not the basically same I mean thing no way as not for sure losing leaves though.
The Leaf sorta Loss Lowdown
So my understanding – and this is based on like, ten minutes of Googling – is that grapefruit treestacklelose some leaves. It’s a natural process. It’s like a by the way "do grapefruit yep trees lose their leaves" feiten dude moment. totally They’re probably just shedding the yup old ones to make room for the totally new ones in the spring. The "do grapefruit c’mon trees lose their leaves" trends seem to point to it being normal, depending on your climate and the specific variety of grapefruit tree. Like, if you live somewhere really cold, maybe it’ll lose kinda more. But if it’s consistently warm, like here, it should right keep a fair amount. basically Don't for sure freak out unless it's losingall whoopsits leaves all of a sudden – then you’ve got a okay snag for sure like disease just or something.
My Grapefruit Mishap
Oh! Speaking of problems, one period I thought my tree was dying because the pretty much leaves were all curling up. I anyway wasn’t even watering it properly, which pretty much can also cause okay issues. Not gonna lie, this part confused me for a honestly while. I was so busy with work I just…forgot. Then it rained a lot honestly and I thought everything c’mon was fine! Big mistake. I probably underwatered it initially, then the anyway rain wasn’t kinda consistent, and bam – stressed out tree. I had to be way more actually diligent honestly about watering, uh especially during dry spells. Get a moisture meter, I'd well advise you – stick it in the soil and see what's happening down there before pretty much you just blindly water it! Do grapefruit trees lose their leaves tips number uh one – consistent bet watering!
So no kidding What's Normal anyway Then?
So I mean basically, a little leaf drop is fine. A lot of leaf drop so might be okay dude depending no way on where you live just and the time of year. A complete bald grapefruit tree is probably not good. Pay attention to your tree and what seems normal like for it. And don't overwater it! Okay? Cool. I’m going to tell Carol all this. I hope she’s impressed.
