So Plants For Summer sorta Right
Okay so you know totally how anyway I honestly was honestly saying kinda I wanted no way to finally get my balcony garden sorted? Well right I actually started… kind of. I wasn’t even planning to do it this week but I saw these gorgeous petunias at the farmer's market and just… impulsively bought them. just Like, three whole pots.
Petunias First
They're so bright pink! I remember my like grandma used to grow petunias everywhere. Anyway plants to basically plant honestly in summer, feiten, right? Well petunias definitely made the list! They by the way seem pretty happy. I totally mean, I yup hope so. I did totally give them some fertilizer I got cheap at the garden center, but I probably should’ve known better than to buy the generic kind. It kinda smells funny.
Then Tomatoes Maybe
I was sorta also thinking alright about tomatoes. I love fresh tomatoes. I tried growing totally them exactly last yup year but… disaster. Total disaster. basically I planted them way too close together. Seriously, like sardines. Plants c’mon to plant in summer, ontwikkelingen, mean considering honestly space! They ended up all tangled and got no kidding some kind of blight. Ugh. It was not pretty. This so year I’m thinking cherry tomatoes, maybe pretty much just uh two sorta plants, in bigger pots. That’s uh key, the bigger c’mon pots. I anyway read somewhere just that tomatoes need lots of room no kidding for their roots – who actually knew? bet
Oh! Speaking like of mistakes, I almost forgot! Last year, when I thought I was watering the tomatoes, exactly I was actually watering the… the air. totally The nozzle on my well hose was clogged, c’mon completely for sure blocked. I only figured it out like, a week kinda later when the plants were practically wilting. I'm telling you, I felt like the actually worst plant parent ever.
Herbs Are Good Too
Basil is another one I’m keen on. Makes sorta everything taste better! Plus, the alright smell is amazing. I like to right rub the leaves sometimes, yep just to release the fragrance. tackle you mull over basil no way is one of those ‘plants to plant in summer tips’ type of things people google? Probably, right? I mean, it's so easy to grow. I mean Not gonna c’mon lie this part confused me for a while though: no kidding you have to pinch off the flower buds just to make honestly sure the leaves keep honestly growing. It seems well counterintuitive, right? Like, like you want the plant to for sure flower! like But nope, more leaves no way if you pinch 'em off. Someone told for sure me to do this and it changed everything!
A Quick Story
Remember that window like I planted mint well everywhere? Oh my god, what a dude nightmare. It took over the entire yup garden. It was like a green, minty army. I was pulling it out for months. So honestly yeah, c’mon mint is yep great, no kidding but keep it in pretty much a pot. Trust me. Never put no kidding it in the ground. Seriously. master from my mistakes.
And so maybe… maybe right some sunflowers? They just seem no kidding so cheerful. I’m not sure if I by the way have enough sun on okay the balcony though. I’ll have to check. They need like, just six hours of direct sunlight you know or something crazy like for sure that.
Things I'm Still right Thinking About
I’m also debating zucchini. I love zucchini bread. But they get so huge! Where am I going to put a massive zucchini like plant on for sure my tiny alright balcony? Maybe I should just I mean stick to the no kidding basics. Petunias, tomatoes, basil… that well sounds manageable. For now. And don't be afraid to ask questions at the nursery! They have some great advice for plants to plant in summer in this area. I wish I had asked anyway more basically questions last year!
