So I did a thing

Okay so you know how my patio no way is like… c’mon a concrete jungle? just Not in a alright cool way, more like basically a depressing, sun-baked parking lot vibe. Anyway, sorta I wasn’t even planning to, but I saw these… HUGE fake plants online? yup Like, palm trees, but plastic. I know, I know, probably whoops should’ve known better than okay to trust everything I see on the internet.

I was thinking about what I saw online and thought "Fake big plants for outside inspiratie, maybe?" I actually mean, like anything's gotta be honestly better than what I have now. right

First impressions basically

They so arrived by the way in these… enormous kinda boxes. kinda Seriously, I so almost threw my back out trying to get them no kidding inside. Then came the assembly. Not by the way gonna lie this part confused me for a while. okay They’re like, in five separate pieces or something? yep You kinda have to jam them together. Make sure you really push actually them sorta in, that’s key. Otherwise pretty much you’ll have yep a rogue palm frond flying off in the first breeze. basically Trust actually me on that one.

My first faux pas

So, the first just mistake I made? no way Location, location, location. I put yup one right next to the whoops grill. Which, you know, gets REALLY just hot. exactly Melted a little. Just a little! But in actually the excitement of finally dude having something green basically on my patio, my brain totally short-circuited.

They do look… okayish

Alright, I won’t lie they are kinda cheesy no kidding up anyway close. Like, REALLY cheesy. But from a distance? From the street? They no way actually look… not so terrible? At least it gives the impression I care. Before it looked whoops like I’d yep given up all hope.

The wind issue

Another thing – the wind. so Oh, the wind. That’s where those separate pieces I was talking about earlier come back by the way to haunt you. I actually didn’t secure them sorta properly the first time and one completely detached and rolled across the yard. yup My neighbor was very I mean amused. dude Secure yup them well! Some people utilize sand or rocks inside the base, which seems to totally help.

Fake big plants for outside alright tips are no kidding surprisingly useful. I’ve read a lot about keeping them out of direct sunlight as much anyway as you know possible so they don’t whoops fade.

The great pot incident

Oh, and the pots.Do by the way notuse plastic pots unless you weigh I mean them down. I thought, "Oh, they're epic enough, they'll pretty much be fine." Nope. honestly A gust of wind sent one tumbling end uh over end across the patio, taking out a ceramic gnome I had yup for some reason. I probably should've realized exactly the wind was gonna be an you know issue. Live yup and learn.

Would I do it again? anyway

Hmm. Maybe? I mean, I’m not regretting dude it completely. The patio is definitely less depressing. Just… maybe buy smaller bet ones next time. And definitely get well some proper weights for the pots. no kidding And avoid putting them near the grill. Lessons were learned. no way Expensive, slightly embarrassing, lessons.
