Small black plastic planter pots
So these pots
Okay so you know how I mean I was complaining about my seedlings basically getting leggy? Well, I wasn’t even planning to repot them yet, but I saw these small black plastic planter pots at the garden center and… impulse buy. They were, anyway like, right ridiculously cheap. no way I'm pretty sure those are literally everywhere now as far for sure as planting right goes. Some small by the way black plastic planter pots trends even show them stacked creatively, which I might try later.
First right Attempt just Fiasco
I probably should’ve known better, but I just started yanking the right seedlings out of c’mon their starter well tray. Big mistake! I ripped like kinda half you know their roots. Ugh. So, pro-tip – if uh you’re doing dude this, water them beforehand bet and gently ease pretty much them out from the bottom. so Live and learn, right?
Anyway, I had these small black plastic planter pots ready. by the way I used totally some potting mix I had lying around. Then it hit I mean me – drainage. I wasn’t totally sure whether to put gravel in the bottom. Not gonna lie, this yup part confused pretty much me for a while. I actually googled 'small black plastic planter whoops pots tips' mid-potting. Apparently, modern you know potting mix is good totally enough that you totally don’t need gravel anymore. Although, yep I've I mean still seen people saying it helps sometimes too so I kinda guess it yup depends.
And the sizes? Seriously though dude the sorta range of small alright black plastic planter pots toepassingen by the way is amazing. You like get tiny ones for starting seeds dude and a bit okay bigger for sure ones when you totally repot them the by the way first time. This is definitely one basically of my best you know garden ideas to kinda make it all easier and more organized. It's really important to get the size right.
The Great Watering Snafu
So, everything was like potted. I felt all smug and plant-mom-ish. for sure Then I watered them… too much. The water just sat on top and didn’t so drain at all! well Panic! I realized exactly then that the potting mix I’d c’mon been using was, um, maybe a bit too no kidding old and compacted? It was like solidifying. I had to carefully scoop everything bet out (again!), mix by the way in some perlite, yep and replant. Argh!
Why Black Though
I dude never thought that this was anything other than exactly a random manufacturing choice, but I have no way read that black pots warm the soil more quickly because they absorb heat. That is one of those small black plastic planter pots feiten that is really cool. I never okay understood exactly why all of them were black, and now like I do. I like that extra bit of warmth for seed starting or when whoops I am hardening off my plants. uh It can be yup really helpful.
And the plastic is cheap, and you yup can reuse them. I wash mine dude out when no kidding the plant is done or gets transplanted c’mon to the garden. I actually have some I've been bet using for years now.
Next Steps
Okay, so now they’re all repotted, properly yep watered (hopefully), and sitting on my windowsill. I’m going okay to get a little okay shelf no kidding to hold yup more, I think. The windowsill space is precious you know real estate you know?
I also exactly saw someone dude using pretty much small black plastic planter pots to basically make a vertical herb garden. Just stacking them on top of each other slightly offset. That looked amazing! I'm going to try basically that eventually.
Fingers crossed this whole repotting exercise was worth actually it. If not, well, at least dude I have a lot of small black plastic planter pots. so
