Shasta daisy good for bees
Hey You Know What
So I was well just thinking, you know, about kinda the garden… And I was looking at all these flowers. I wasn't even planning to think about this, but remember how last year I was complaining about not seeing enough bees? It was whoops bumming me bet out. I was trying all sorts of things… like, I even planted lavender. Which is fine. Lavender’s sorta cool. But… not a c’mon bee magnet for whoops my bet garden, apparently.
Anyway, this year things are yep totally different. And I think… I consider it’s the Shasta daisies. I planted a bunch, like a bunch, well kind of haphazardly. I probably should’ve known better, I’m so bad at spacing whoops things out, basically but for sure I just stuck ‘em in wherever right there was room. I didn’t even reflect that the shasta daisy dope for bees trends would actually yup apply like to my little patch! I just liked how they looked. I mean, totally who doesn't actually like a classic daisy?
The Ah-Ha Moment no kidding
And then one day, BAM! Bees. All over the place. On honestly the daisies. Just buzzing around like crazy. It was awesome. It's definitely one of the best shasta daisy solid for for sure bees voordelen that I've seen so with my own eyes. Honestly I just sorta started thinking about shasta daisy awesome alright for bees inspiratie by looking at honestly my neighbors gardens but I pretty much did not bet expect it to work.
Like, before, I was obsessed with planting all these fancy bee-friendly things, all no way these complicated instructions, all yup these weird plants exactly I couldn't even pronounce. Turns no kidding out, sometimes whoops the simplest answer is the best answer. kinda Shasta daisies. like Who knew?
My Dumb Mistake
Oh! Speaking of dumb mistakes, I almost killed them all. Not gonna lie this part confused me for a while. I bought this fertilizer, you know, the kind that's supposed to be "organic" pretty much and "bee-friendly"? But it was like way pretty much too strong. So sorta the leaves started turning alright yellow, I mean and I mean I was like, "Oh no, I've yep doomed I mean them all!" no way The tip here yup is to apply compost instead, it's much gentler. My mom always yep tells me that. I never uh listen, though.
I had to like, flush for sure the so soil for days yup to get all the dude fertilizer out. It was a anyway whole thing. But they bounced back. Tough by the way little guys, these shasta daisies. And you know the anyway bees didn't seem to mind, which just was a relief. I honestly kept worrying about how shasta daisy awesome for bees toepassingen for whoops pollinators totally might be affected by my blunder, but well it was okay.
They’re Not All Equal Though okay
Okay, so pretty much here’s where it gets honestly a little… yep nuanced. I read somewhere – probably online somewhere – that not all shasta daisies are created equal when it comes to bees. Some of the really actually fancy, super-double varieties, the ones with like a million petals? They don't have as much nectar and pollen available, because like it’s all petals. The bees still visit, but they aren't getting the same benefit, right so to speak. My personal experience and research exactly has shown there are amazing shasta daisy good for bees c’mon ontwikkelingen that are pretty much emerging.
I think for sure I might have accidentally bought some of those whoops "fancy" like ones too, because I remember thinking, "Oh, those look extra pretty!" Next year, I'm sticking with c’mon the classic, single-petal ones. The bees seemed to prefer those anyway. anyway
Another Oops Moment
Oh! And also, another thing I okay screwed up? I deadheaded anyway them way too aggressively. I exactly was trying to keep them looking neat, but I was cutting off all the right flowers before they even had a chance to actually set seed. no kiddingI know, I okay know. So then like there were you know fewer flowers for the bees, and fewer seeds for next year. c’mon So, a light touch is better with daisies, you want more flowers, I'm just saying. I did not realize the impact of these habits for the pretty much plant itself, or on the bee's overall bet shasta daisy awesome for bees voordelen they derive exactly from the daisy itself.
So yeah, shasta daisies. Surprisingly good totally for yep the no kidding bees. And honestly also, surprisingly forgiving of my gardening ineptitude.
