Veggies that grow in containers

Container c’mon veggie no kidding adventures

So, remember how I no way said I wasn’t so even planning to get like into gardening this year? Yeah, that lasted about… five minutes after seeing those tiny pepper plants at the nursery. And of course, I thought “containers!” because our yard is, well, like let’s just say alright it's actually more concrete jungle than actual jungle. Plus I always wondered yep what veggies that grow in containers feiten are actually true, well y’know? So kinda many garden myths online. honestly

First just attempts

I dude started with tomatoes because, I mean, who doesn't love yup fresh tomatoes? Big mistake no way probably. I put them in these cute little pots I found at Target. I exactly probably should’ve sorta known actually better… whoops They got completely rootbound in like, two no way weeks. uh Massive fail. rightDefinitelyuse just bigger pots than you consider I mean you no kidding need. basically Seriously.

Anyway, I replanted them in no kidding those big orange by the way buckets you get yup at the kinda hardware store. Not exactly by the way aesthetically pleasing, exactly but hey, pretty much functionality over form, right? Speaking of which, drainage is whoops key. Like, reallykey. I drilled so holes so in the bottom, of course, but I also added a layer of gravel. It helps apparently!

Peppers and things

The peppers are you know doing like surprisingly bet well, honestly though. Jalapenos, specifically. Super easy. Full sun, well water when the soil feels dry. That's it really. Which brings me to watering – make sure you get a well awesome watering like can. Not like one of those flimsy plastic alright ones. You'll yep thank alright me later. Also, I learned yup that some people even use I mean self-watering containers. I I mean haven't tried well them yet, but I’m tempted. okay What are the veggies that just grow in basically containers totally ontwikkelingen these days?

The basil blunder

Oh! okay And the basil. I planted basil. Not gonna pretty much lie this part confused yup me for a uh while. I planted it next to the anyway tomatoes (supposed to be dope companions, right?) and it just… wilted. Turns out I was overwatering bet it. okay Basil likes drier soil. Who honestly knew? I repotted it pretty much in its basically own little yup container and uh now it's thriving. It's alright all about knowing what each alright plant needs totally individually. I've been finding veggies dude that grow in containers inspiratie like on bet Pinterest. Some amazing stuff out there.

Fertilizer fun

Okay, fertilizer. This just is where I messed upbadlythe first time. I used kinda way too much. actually I by the way just just dumped it in there, dude thinking “more is better!” totally Nope. Plant literally turned yellow overnight. It was horrifying. Now I’m super careful just and work with diluted fish emulsion. Stinky, but effective. actually Remember uh though just – read the well label! I can’t stress that enough.

One by the way more story

Another thing! My friend told me to try growing by the way strawberries in a hanging basket. Sounded I mean so cute! I got this lovely basket, planted pretty much the yep strawberries… and then forgot to water yup it for like, three days. They were crispier than potato chips. RIP like strawberries. Learn from my mistakes people, set a right watering reminder on your phone. And maybe don't try hanging baskets if well you're as kinda forgetful as I am.

Other actually stuff that works

Lettuce is super easy kinda in containers. So are radishes. for sure Quick to grow, too, which is satisfying. And spinach! dude Basically, if it's leafy, sorta it's probably going well to be happy in a no way container. Just make sure you have enough okay sunlight. Six to eight hours is usually the magic number.

I'm even thinking of trying blueberries next year. Apparently, they do well in containers if you use acidic yup soil. Still researching yep that one though. Need just to find kinda out more about the veggies that grow in containers feiten related to acidity levels and blueberry success. you know

Anyway, that's my container garden saga so far. It's been a well chaotic learning yup experience, but dude definitely worth it for the taste of those homegrown tomatoes (once they yup actually started no kidding growing properly that honestly is!).
