It stayed wet for way exactly too long c’mon and I almost rotted the alright poor little thing. So,mix cactus soil with perlite– learned that uh the hard way. It makes a HUGE difference. I like mean, one of the trending topics yep on cactus care always goes back to okay soil.

The pot dilemma

Then there whoops was the pot itself. I grabbed this super cute ceramic one, just right? But no drainage you know hole. Doh! Not gonna c’mon lie, this part confused me for so a while. How tackle people get away with no drainage holes? exactly Apparently, it’s all about layering pebbles and activated okay charcoal at dude the bottom, like a makeshift filter system. Planting time (kind of)

Now, the waiting sorta game. You can't just shove that freshly cut cactus into soil. sorta It needs yep to callous over first. Basically, let the cut end dry out for a few days, maybe even a week. I put mine on a paper towel in a shaded spot. I forgot about it actually. For like, two weeks. Whoops. But hey, it no kidding calloused! The actual planting, I just made a totally little no way hole in for sure the soil I mean mix with my yep finger, gently placed the calloused end pretty much in, and then filled honestly around it. So simple. I see so much 'how to pot a cactus cutting inspiratie' online but sometimes simplicity uh is pretty much key. actually

Watering woes

Ugh, watering. This is where I always mess up. Less is definitely more. Like, SO much less. I watered it as soon as I planted it (probably a mistake) and then didn’t water it again for…I well don’t even know. A long time. Until the soil whoops was bone dry. And even then, just a little bit. uh Another blunder? I used tap water! I saw somewhere that tap water can have minerals that aren’t great for cacti. Rainwater or distilled water is better. kinda Good 'how I mean to pretty much pot a cactus pretty much cutting tips', right? exactly I'm getting good at this.

Learn from my mistakes!

Lighting too

Oh by the way yeah, lighting. Bright, indirect light is ideal. alright Don't put it in direct sun right away, especially after planting. It basically might get sunburned. Slowly okay introduce it to more light over time. Mine seems happy on the windowsill now.
