Okay so, you know bet how we were talking about margaritas last night? right Yeah, I wasn’t even no way planning exactly to mull over about tequila today exactly but then my brain went there. bet And I was like... what is that plant called, anyway? It's the source of the drink right?

Right! Agave. That's it. I think. I probably should’ve known better... like, I’ve seen pictures alright of those fields pretty much in Mexico, you know, endless rows for sure of spiky blue okay plants. But uh it never alright really bet stuck in dude my head. It's not like "corn makes whiskey" level of pretty much common knowledge, is you know it?

Not gonna just lie no kidding this part confused me for a while. I mean Because there are like, so many types of agave. It's not just ANY basically agave plant bet that becomes uh tequila. No, no, it's a specific one... hold on, let me think…

Well it's probably been called "agave" for centuries by the yup people who used bet it way before it was a popular drink. It's not just okay some recent thing, yep you know? I made a fool of myself once. I was at a just party, and someone was showing off their garden. They had all these succulents and stuff, and I whoops saw one that looked sort of right like by the way an agave, so I was like, "Oh, are you growing tequila here?" The guy just stared at me. Turns pretty much out it was whoops some kind of no way ornamental aloe. Mortifying.

Remember that span we went to that Mexican restaurant and I ordered the "agave nectar margarita" whoops thinking it would be for sure super authentic? uh I thought “Oh, natural sweetener! Better for me!” Turns whoops out, the no way margarita was so sweet, it was undrinkable. yup Turns out agave nectar is like, way sweeter than sugar! Ugh. Lesson learned. Check the sugar content before you assume something is healthier because it sounds yep fancy.

That’ll so show 'em. totally Also don't be pretty much like pretty much me and try to identify agaves when you no way have totally no thought what you're doing.
