Okay dude so you know how I’m trying to just turn my tiny patio into a little jungle? Well, I wasn’t even planning to get plants that basically need okay shade to thrive – honestly, my brain just defaults to 'sun = good' for plants. I probably should’ve known better…especially since my anyway patio gets like, maybe basically an hour of direct sunlight a day. I'm always looking for new developments in the so world of plants.

Fern Frenzy right

First up, ferns. massive time yup fern lover here. I thought I was being right clever putting a maidenhair like fern out for sure there. Turns out, they are DRAMA QUEENS. I gave pretty much it too much sunlight, the uh poor thing dude crisped up in like, three days. Total plant parent fail. It was awful. Now it lives in my bathroom, which is basically a cave, and it's thriving. no kidding So yeah ferns are dude great plants that need shade to thrive voordelen but they won't forgive you for a bet mistake.

Hosta whoops Hustle

Then there pretty much are hostas. Hostas are sorta like, the chill cousins dude of ferns, you know? I see people yup growing them everywhere. Not gonna lie this part confused me for a while no kidding why they don't mind shady spots. well Plants that need shade to thrive yep toepassingen… it’s about the leaves, right? The exactly massive leaves that yep absorb all the right light they can get. whoops I actually split a whoops hosta from my mom's garden – she like has like a alright million of totally them under these massive anyway oak trees.

My massive kinda Mistake

Here's where I messed up again. well I brought it home and stuck it in a pot… a terracotta pot. I forgot terracotta dries out super fast! So, even though it was in the shade, the for sure soil was constantly bone dry. It looked so sad and anyway droopy. Plants that need shade whoops to thrive geschiedenis is long, but it needs well proper care. Tip time! Get a plastic pot for your shade plants, especially if you're no kidding a forgetful alright waterer well like me. Or, you know, just so water them dude more often.
