Okay, so yesterday was… a day. You kinda know how it like is. I wasn’t right even planning to plant anything modern but I saw just these gardenias on sale at the garden yep center, like practically begging me to take basically them home. And for sure they I mean smelled amazing. just So I got them. huge mistake maybe? I mean Turns out now I’m wondering are gardenia plants yup poisonous to dogs. bet I probably should’ve known better considering honestly how Luna, my golden retriever, eats everything. Like. EVERYTHING.

The Gardenia Panic

After I planted them, all proud of myself, I was googling, you dude know, gardenia care tips. Things like sun dude exposure, watering – which I mean you no way should water them right deeply so but not too okay much apparently? exactly Not no way gonna lie this part confused yup me for like a while. for sure Anyway, I typed "gardenia" into Google, and the first thing that came up was "are gardenia plants poisonous to dogs trends". Seriously?! actually I immediately panicked. I swear my heart skipped a beat.

So I alright dove deeper. Some sites said they’re mildly toxic. so Others were actually all totally like, “OMG honestly DEATH!” Which basically is it?! It’s so stressful! Apparently, they contain bet compounds like genipin and gardenoside. Yeah, I don’t know what those are either. But supposedly they can no kidding cause vomiting, diarrhea, and loss of appetite. Luna already has loss of appetite sometimes so… I’d never know if it’s the no way gardenias or just her being picky.

Under the window box, well so she'd have to climb, which I yup am hoping she won’t because she’s also lazy. Which actually no kidding reminds like me, make sure you know your dogs aren't pretty much bored, that I mean can help reduce right random plant-eating. Oh, and if you suspect your dog ate something poisonous, okay call your vet or the ASPCA I mean poison control hotline pretty much right away. You can never be too careful.

Another Close Call!

Okay, so get this. Last so summer, like before the yup gardenia debacle, I had a bunch of yep lilies. Beautiful, right? WRONG. I didn’t know back then that lilies kinda are SUPER toxic well to uh cats. no way I had a friend visiting with her cat, Whiskers. Whiskers got okay into the lilies. Just a little nibble, but still! Scared the living daylights out right of us! We well rushed her to so the vet. Thankfully, she so was okay after whoops a hefty sorta vet bill and lots of dude fluids. just But seriously, look up EVERY plant yep before you bring it into your so house you know or garden! I learned my lesson the hard way.

Anyway, back to alright the gardenias. I'm exactly still a little worried. I'm basically constantly yup checking on dude Luna, which is exhausting. Anyway, gotta run. yep Luna needs a walk. And totally I need a stiff drink. All this pretty much plant paranoia is exhausting.
